Why I Started Asking Different Questions

As an avid enjoyer of behind the scenes content, I often find myself watching or listening to interviews with my favorite actors, creators, or musicians. As much as I love hearing these, I started to find myself wanting more than just the repetitive surface level interview questions (asking a superhero actor what super power they would want, etc.).

After a period of growing frustrated by this, I decided to take it upon myself to dive deeper. As an artist, former short-film maker, and creative myself, I have so many questions about how the art is made. Why did you phrase this lyric that way? What choices are you consciously making to tell your character's story without dialogue? What is something you want to brag about but haven't had the opportunity?

Across the various shows at Between Takes Media, when I sit down with a guest, the first thing I want them to feel is comfortable - followed very shortly by having fun. My goal is to create an environment that leads to not only an informative interview for the listeners, but a uniquely fun moment for the guests as well.

I hope my listeners leave each episode or engagement here having learned something new or having had the creative fire lit underneath them. I hope that people feel inspired to try new things or take a leap of faith with their own projects.
